Sick and tired...

In case you didn't know... I am back styling yet another torture device!!!

I am sure you will all recall that back last year I was in a boot cast for about six months total. Due to some problems I was having with my left foot, and then I went back into the boot cast after I had surgery in Dec. Well... this time it is another device and on my other leg!!!

Sheesh - about ten weeks ago I fell in our kitchen on the tile floor. I landed right on my knee - I mean right on it!!! I cried like a baby it hurt so bad but I was able to get up and walk around so it must be ok - right?!?! WRONG!!!

Three weeks later the knee started bruising and was really sore, so when I went in for my regular check up with my family practice Dr. I told her what happened. She sent me over to x-rays and low and behold I had a fractured knee cap! She said there wasn't really anything that can be done for a fractured kneecap, just to please be careful not to break it completely cause then there WOULD be issues....

Fast forward - ten weeks later - my knee is still swelling and causing me issue so I get a referral and head to see the orthopedic Dr. Wouldn't you know - I leave there wearing this....

Now let me tell you there is nothing fun about this thing! I mean have you ever tried to go pee without bending your knee?!?! If not - go try it - seriously - go on - go try it... it isn't easy! (This is one of those times where I wish I had outdoor pluming if you know what I mean!!! Bahahaha!)

The plan is that I am to wear this for the next the next week and then go back to see him. If the inflammation is down - well then I get to go see my friends at PT again! Thrills - NOT!

Needless to say I am about sick and tired of trying out all these torture devices! And to add to the fact - I think this one is the worse to date! You should see me try to walk around - I feel like Forest Gump when he had braces on his legs. As a matter of fact- you should've heard hubby the other day - I was trying to race to get the phone which was ringing... Did he get up to help? Noooo... instead I hear this small voice say "Run Forest Run!" Sheesh!!!!

Well I think that is it for today! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend - no matter what you are off to do.... Oh but if you are planning to scrap those "Back to School" photos this weekend - don't forget that the August Grab Bag is still for sale!!!! I'm sure you can find some awesome stuff in there to help you get your layouts done!

Until Next Time!

So here we go....

Another crazy day here at Beloved Keepsakes. I have to go drop off my ball gown to have it hemmed up. (Being short is a pain!!!) Yep it's that time again - Military Ball time... I have to say I was very very very lucky this time around though when it comes to my dress!

I pretty much had resolved myself to the fact I would just wear one of the many dresses I already have. Now see hubby and I have this argument all the time - he says no one remembers what you wore last year or the year before - so who cares?!?!? I say all my photos start looking alike so I care!! LOL Anyway - on a whim I had hubby stop into David's Bridal to see if they had anything good in the clearance sections (I mean we are less than two weeks away from the event so needless to say there is NO time to order a dress, plus who wants to pay full price?!?!)

So I went in and low and behold there was a dress that was in my size that I actually kind of liked! I put it on and hubby REALLY liked it (and it only would need some minor alterations - the hem and a little tuck at the top). Of course it didn't have a price tag on it - so up to the front I went... Low and behold the dress was only $79!!! I was like I'll take it!!!! (Who finds a dress for less than $100 now days, well unless you are a size 6 - which I am NOT!!)

Hubby was shocked - the first dress I picked up, it fit and it was on sale for 50% - oh and the best part - it ISN'T BLACK!!!!! Shocking!!! I know!!! Believe it or not it is "cornflower" blue... and while this normally isn't a color I would choose, I'm saying it is more "infantry" blue to me and will match hubby's dress blues perfectly!! Whoooo Hoooo!!!

To top it off - I have some cute silver high heel sandals and just like that - "Ball" shopping is done!

Here is the website photo of the dress - just picture it about ten sizes bigger!!! Bahaaha!!!

Thus I am off to get it hemmed and tucked (I can't stand women who pull up on top of their strapless dresses all night! Much less stand to be that women! Bahaha!).

Hope you all have a GREAT day - and I will catch ya later!

Until Next Time!

I'm Backkkkk....

I know, I know.... you have all been wondering if I fell off the face of the planet... Right?!?! Well I didn't. Not really!!!! See hubby made it back safely from Afghanistan in March. He had some minor medical issues (like a sprain ankle and such) that the military decided he needed to take care of - so for the past four and a half months I have been kind of in hiding out spending time with my hubby, trying to get re-integrated and figure out what we are going to do from here on out.

I am happy to report that while we seem to have the whole meshing of our lives on track -not sure yet what is going to happen with the job situation but until something definite happens, I am happy to report that I am back to designing and building both the Beloved Keepsakes digital designs and the Beloved Keepsakes website and keepsake items to bigger, better and greater things!!!
