Boy am I beat!!!

Sorry I haven't been on today to post before now...

I just got back from FL - my best friend had to have some oral surgery so I went down to watch her three children while she was at the oral surgeon's office....

The boys were great - they are 8 and 11 - so they can fend for themselves and as long as they can get on the computer to play with their Webkinz its all good!!

But the baby - well - she is a little over four months old - I tell you - I don't know how all you mother's out there do it!!! I admire you all greatly! Motherhood was just not my calling in life. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE kids - just OTHER peoples kids... and preferably those that are old enough to tell you what is wrong!!!! I just don't know what to do with a baby!!!

But I do have to admit - this is one GORGEOUS baby!!!!!

I promise to take time this weekend to blog - and I'll even try to throw out a treat for all of you that are sticking with me on this blogging thing!!!

Until next time - have a GREAT weekend!

Today I want to take the time and the space on my blog to say:

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Even though you are 60,000 miles away - I hope today is special. You are a blessing from God. I feel very blessed to be your wife. Happy Birthday Hubby!! I love you very much!

Forever ever.....

So in honor of Hubby's Birthday I thought I would share a little slide show of the past 41 years!!!

HOLY COW - 41 YEARS!!!!!

(Bahahaha, you really didn't think I was going to let that slip past did ya! That's what happens when you marry someone as young as me, dear hubby ~ You will always be OLDER!!! )

Attention, Attention ~ I have an announcement!

Drum roll please....... I have some very exciting news that I want to share with you today!!!

I was asked to be on the "Closed Design Team" for the "Perfect Printing Pouch"! Whoooo Hooooo!!! Oh yeah! Let's have a Party! Oh Yeah!

Now, if you have been reading my blog for awhile you know one of my favorite products is the Perfect Printing Pouch! (If you didn't catch that post - click here to read it!)

Well the owner (Amy) has asked me to be on her design team!!! How exciting and cool is that?!?! But - if you are like me - you are thinking "What is a closed design team?" LOL

Basically this is the deal.... Manufactures of scrapbooking products have their own design teams. People that they think are creative, talented and have the ability to "showcase" their products. These design team members are pre-picked out and on a list for that manufacture.

Then, it seems, that magazines and publications send out a casting calls to the manufacturer's. These casting calls are looking for layouts to be publish in upcoming issues of that publication. The manufacture gives that information to their design team and then the design team member's submit their work (in which they have used that manufacturer's product) to be considered for publication!!!!

I have heard from a few of my friends who actually have been published - that while scrapbooking magazines do have their own design teams, and the do also do "open" casting calls (this is where the ask their readers to submit). The majority of published works are from manufacturer's closed design teams!!!

Needless to say - I am VERY HONORED that Amy even asked me to be on her team! Who knows... maybe one day I will actually be published! LOL

(Of course I have to throw this side note in. Hubby said - "What is the big deal to be published?" And I was like, Ummm, Hmmmm, well...... it is good for the ego?!?!?! Bahahahahaha!!!)

Well - there you have it! That was my announcement for today.... now I am off to hopefully stop being a chicken and get this KNK installed, hooked up and functioning correctly!!!

I also need to finish up a file that I plan to share here on the blog soon with you my readers!!!!!

So until next time!

It's begining to feel a lot like Christmas...

Do you hear the Christmas Carols playing in my head??? LOL

Ok - now really it does feel like Christmas only because I got the most awesome gift today!!! I guess I should first tell you that one of my "love language" is receiving gifts . There is nothing I love more than getting a gift. And it doesn't matter what it is!! Big, little, expensive, cheap - whatever!!! Just the thought that someone took the time to think about me and to get me something or send me something!! I LOVE IT!!

If you have never read the book "The Five Love Languages" By Dr. Gary Chapman - I would STRONGLY suggest this book! It is based on the premise that we have an emotional tank (the love tank) inside of each of us. And the people that you love are either depositing into that tank or withdrawing from it. Dr. Chapman says that there are five love languages. Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch.

Dr. Chapman goes on to say that being sincere is not enough to communicate our love. That we must be willing to learn our spouse’s primary love language if we are to be effective communicators of love. And that most of the time your love languages are NOT the same as the person we are trying to speak love too. So you may think you are "speaking" love and making a deposit into you loved ones tank because that is what would speak love to you - but in reality since your spouse's love language is different - you are not depositing at all - and you might actually be withdrawing!!! (Really, you should read this book if you haven't already!!)

So... having gone into alllllllll of that - "Receiving Gifts" is one of my primary love languages!

Well, the other day the hubby said to me - you know all that money that you recouped from the Nissan dealership - you should take the part of that money that you didn't think you would get back (the car payment and the insurance - because we would have had to pay that regardless) and get that GPS that you have been wanting. That way - every time you go on a road trip - you can thank Nissan for buying you a GPS!!!

Guess what.... today - FEDEX brought my GPS!!!! This thing is cool!! I mean really coool!!! It has text to voice so it actually says - "Turn Left on Marshview drive!"
Now if you had told me six months ago that I would have wanted a GPS for my car - I would have told you - you're crazy!!! As a matter of fact my best friend got one last year for her Birthday - and I was like why would you want that!!!! That's a crappy birthday gift!!! (Hahaha)

Then.... she and I took a trip to NC for her baby shower - and we were just yaking away - and all of a sudden the GPS said you will turn right in 1.1 miles!!! Holy Cow - we would have missed our turn because we were yaking!! Right then and there and I knew this was a pretty nice item to own!!! (Hey - I will be the first to admit I like to talk! I like to talk a lot!!!! Bahahaha!!)

Low and behold I got my GPS today!!! Just in time as a matter of fact, cause I have a road trip planned for this week and one for next week!! This week - I actually know where I am going so it will help me get use to my GPS and to see how accurate it actually is.... then next week - I am going on a pretty long trip to a place I haven't been in several years!!! So I am very excited!!!

Oh - and we also have a road trip planned in Oct when hubby comes home on leave!!!! Needless to say I see plenty of opportunities to use my new gift!!!

So thanks Hubby! And thanks Nissan!!!!

Until next time - Happy driving!

Opps!!!

Oppssss! I just received a message from Christie, on Paperthreads, who was scolding me for not having my weekly movie review posted yet!! Who knew that you guys actually READ my blog and wanted to hear my movie reviews!!! So thanks Christie for prompting me to get off my butt and get to blogging!!! LOL

Hopefully my hubby has long since given up on reading my blog as he will be very very sad to hear that I went and saw "The Bourne Ultimatum" this weekend without him.

I personally was never a big Jason Bourne fan. Hubby on the other hand LOVED these movies!!! The first one, in my opinion, was ok... the second one was not bad.... but the third! Oh the third one - was..... AWESOME!!!

Ok - lets be honest here - how can you spend an hour and 51 minute's watching Matt Damon and it not be a good time??? Yeah - well I just don't think its possible!!! He is just yummy in my book!!! (Yep, I might be a little deprived and have a little distorted outlook since hubby has been gone for a while... Man withdrawals, if you know what I mean! So you might want to keep that in mind.... Bahahaha!!)

But - talk about action packed!! Holy Cow!!! A little unrealistic of course - I mean it is an action movie... and all my favorites were back in play - Joan Allen and even Julie Stiles.

I don't want to give anything away - but let me tell you this was an awesome movie!!! There was a twist at the end - and I thought I saw something coming - but then it didn't happen! I am thinking there may be another sequel to the story of David Webb aka Jason Bourne. And I have to tell you - I really hope there is!!! (Normally I feel three movies about the same thing, or the same person is MORE than enought... but I truly am hoping we see Jason Bourne again!!!)

If you're looking for an action packed, car crashing, blowing up stuff, getting revenge and searching for the truth movie.... you won't be going wrong by heading out to see this one!!!

The only thing I have to say bad about this movie was the actual filming left a little to be desired. There were several scenes that were in your face - I mean in the actors face - literally in their faces - the camera was that close to them. I guess they wanted you to feel like you were a part of the movie or a part of the action - but there were some scenes that the camera was soooo shaky and jumpy I felt sick to my tummy!!

All in all though - I have to give this FIVE Chocolate bars, a bag of popcorn, and a large diet coke!!! Yep it was that good!!!!

Make sure you get your tickets early though cause here in Savannah it was Sold Out every showing yesterday!

Hope you are having a GREAT weekend~
Until Next time...
